What we do


The Urban Watershed Coalition's goal is to provide direction, support and development of programs that assist communities in watershed restoration and health.
  • Manage the polluted runoff coming from watersheds by encouraging healthy and vital ecosystems surrounding the receiving water body.
  • Provide educational programs to foster awareness of the environmental impacts of development and urbanization and to encourage a more sustainable approach to watershed management.
  • Work with local governments to provide assistance, guidance, development and implementation of programs which foster interest and improvement of local watersheds.
  • Bring pollutant levels to the equivalent of predevelopment conditions.
  • Write and administer grants
We will work with local governments to find solutions to problems with impaired watersheds to clean up water.


We will look at watershed areas in need of improvement and go through the grant process to help fund much needed restoration activities in those watersheds.
We are working on developing new programs to help repair and restore urban watersheds as well as coastal watersheds through working with local communities.  The health of watersheds shows us the health and vitality of the world we live in!  It is important to take care of them now!
